So, one week into Wii Fit now. I've actually gained a few pounds funny enough. Of course It would be near impossible for me to lose any weight as I don't have any to lose(all skin and bone with a little bit of fat). My starting weight last week was 146 pounds(I'm 5'10). As of last night, I weighed in at 151. I always give or take a few pounds though for daily fluctuation(usually around 2 pounds for me). I've been working out every day with the Wii Fit for at least 20 minutes at a time. Most days I do over 30 minutes.
I try to alternate what I am doing from day to day: Day one I do strength and aerobics, the alternate day I do yoga and aerobics and I mix in the balance games just for fun. I find the balance games don't give me too much of a workout(other than the hula hoops ones). I keep the aerobics in there every day because, man, I work up a pretty damn good sweat. I haven't changed my eating habits yet. Normally when you start exercising more, you need to eat more but I haven't really felt the hunger crave yet. I've been trying to drink more water and thats about it. Its going to be interesting to see if Wii Fit by itself is enough to improve my cardio/fitness level at all. Anyone else have Wii Fit and have some thoughts to share? PS I have almost unlocked everything in the game. Total time spent doing physical movement in 1 week: 5 hours 5 minutes(this only includes the time spent doing the activities, not the time waiting around for them to start or time in between each activity). |

I haven't gotten the Fit yet, I can't say I've even seen it available and not sold out in stores. How much is it, like $80? I gotta say, I'm intrigued by the technology, but I'm like you physically - all skin and bones. I doubt it'd do me much good health-wise, but it looks like a lot of fun.

I'm getting close to the 22 BMI which is supposedly the perfect weight. Just weighed myself tonight at up to 152.1 lbs and BMI of 21.56. I decided to take a rest today though. My legs are still quite sore from yesterday (was my strength/aerobics day) and I pushed it pretty hard and legs are supposed to be one of the fastest recovery muscles. Back at 'er tomorrow though.

Soooo normal ....
Me .. im OBESE ! at a staggering 5'9 and 210lbs ... I play baseball, hockey, golf lots and my job is physically demanding aswell ... im no meat head body builder, but i guess this thing doesnt account muscle very well, even thought your wieght is going up with muscle building it seems like .. but when i weight myself on a scale that does body fat in % and i was average so i guess it jsut depends on the game |

Ya, for me its relevant, but for you it may not be. I have a friend who is the same, he is fairly fit, only 5'11 and close to 200 lbs and it classes him as overweight too. It definitely has some theoretical faults, but as far as it promoting exercise/fitness it works, at least for me.

I have to say the Wii has really impressed me. They have changed the old "sit there and laze around" complaint parents would have to a more amusing "Go play your Wii and get some exercise" lol Though it wont replace good old fresh air but im impressed with that simple fact that they took this step and the Wii Fit is a perfect example. Oh have you gained any muscle too?

My wife got this for me for father's day. It's pretty cool. We'll see if anything comes of it as far as me dropping some pounds. I also get Lego Indiana Jones but I haven't had a chance to play it yet.
